hypocrite.

a pet peeve of mine is hypocrisy.
if something really bugs you, ya probably shouldn't do it, right?

that being said, when i cook/bake i am definitely a 'by-the-recipe' gal.
you won't find me in the kitchen without a recipe.
and let me tell you, or you can ask the husband,
i follow recipes to a 't'.
the thought of no recipe?
please excuse me while i shudder a little.

today i decided to make some good ol' chex mix.
{one of the many kitchen-y items on my bucket list}
now, i have to mention, i make chex mix the right way.
what way is that you ask?
 the way without the extra garbage...i mean...without the pretzels and nuts.
everyone just picks out the cereal part anyway right?
{ok, maybe that's just me}

anywho, i had actually just finished telling the husband i was going to make chex mix
 "the right way"
when it happened...
i must love my salt because i decided to use a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon for all the spices.
whoops.

the irony... not 4 days ago i jumped on the husband
for using a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon when we were baking chocolate chip cookies.
{as it turns out, he actually was using the right measurement, double whoops}

i had to laugh when i told him i measured the seasonings wrong.
let's just say, he had a good time with that one.

the good news: i saved the day {aka the chex mix}.

the new me.

since i have been gone there have been some big changes in my life.
a lot can happen in a year.
but of course you already know that.

if you are new to my blog, or an old friend, i figured i'd 'reintroduce' myself and give you some background on the new me.

brace yourself.
this will be a lengthy one.

if you were already reading my blog
you knew i was pregnant from the post prior to my disappearance.
i am no longer pregnant (obviously)
and have a beautiful baby girl.
right from the get-go, the stinker is just like her dad: stubborn.
our stubborn little babe was 10 days overdue.
and i had to be induced.
that was a ball of fun.
let.me.tell.you.

actually, i won't get into that can of worms.
lets just say-- i hope to never be induced again.
baby c (the cutie from yesterday) is now 3 months old.
she is such a bundle of sweetness in our life.
and obviously has dad wrapped around her pinky.

i mentioned yesterday i had a change in careers.
i am now a proud SAHM.
aka
stay at home momma

it's been a big change, but a great one too.
i miss the smell of crayons.
setting up my classroom.
 but mostly i miss the little ones in my class.
that being said...
i know that staying home with baby c will be extremely rewarding.
i am grateful for the opportunity to do so.
{maybe i will have to go buy a box of crayons and sniff them... mr. sketch markers anyone?}

ok. i'm writing too much.
{deep breath}

i overuse ellipses...
i don't type with capital letters {usually}.
i'm obsessed with diet coke.
and i love the rain.
disneyland IS the happiest place on earth.
i'm a sugar fiend.
i want a 'big' family.
i now have an iPhone...i know. i caved.
the husband and i are high school sweethearts (kinda).

AND

ooooobviously, i'm mormon.
 hence the title of my blog.
but i haven't always been.
you can read my conversion story starting with this post.

well...i think this post is long enough.
if you just cannot get enough of me, because you love me that much...
 you can read some more fun facts about me here.

screaming...

have you ever been around something that made you so excited you felt like screaming?

not scared screaming.
happy, i cannot hold it in any longer, i have goosebumps, i am kid with too much sugar screaming.
{sort of like when a toddler sees something they are SUPER excited about and squeals}

that was me.
this weekend.
watching the awesome  no, ridiculously amazing Blue Angels fly over my head.
and believe me when i say:
they are loud
and so crazy!

i don't even like riding bikes next to people because i am afraid we are going to crash,
or maybe our handle bars will get stuck together...
 let alone fly a jet plane going 700 MPH flying only 18 INCHES apart.
in case you forgot, that is just a little longer than a standard ruler.
holy moly.

i was like a kid on christmas morning.
those crazy suckers bring my right back to my childhood
when i would run outside the house i grew up in
to watch them race by and fill the sky with smoke.

i love summer!

{the husband and his dad...we call him 'the todd'}

what are your summer traditions?

time

wow. it has been quite a while hasn't it.
the past few weeks that i have been gone {aka not blogging} have been a whirlwind of learning and growth.

i started teaching, have been spending more time with the husband, more time sleeping, and more time thinking than i feel like...well ever.

isn't it funny,
that when you have nothing going on, you feel like you don't get anything done...
then, when your days are full you make time for whats important and seem to get more done that ever?!

the weekend after school started,
the husband and i drove to eastern washington so that he
could get some footage he needed for a film.
you are probably thinking.
BOO, 5 hours in a car in eastern washington...NOT fun!
but i have to say,
it was one of the best trips i have taken.
i loved having along time with the Mr.

i loved that it was just us.
{i have a picture to share, but amazing technology will not let me...i will save it for later}

i am so grateful at this time to have
a husband who is so loving and supportive.

i wouldn't say that august was our best month of marriage.
{don't get me wrong, everything is fine}
we just...didn't really see each other.
i was so busy planning that i had little time for anything else.

and what did husband say or do about it...
he gave me hugs and kisses every day and each and every day
told me how proud he is of me.

sigh.

i really don't know what i would do without that man.

me! a photographer?!

the husband and i are taking our friends' engagement pictures today...
have we ever taken any one's engagement pictures before?
well...no.

last month we shot a different friend's wedding video.

i am noticing a trend here...and yikes.
 i am pretty sure wedding photography is not on my resume.
nor do i claim to be a good photographer...
but here goes nothing!

i will let you know how it goes!
{fingers are crossed it goes well!}

video.

the husband just finished a new video, and i just have to show you.
every time he creates a new video i am more and more impressed...its insanity.
i am thinking he should take over my blog because he has a waaaayy with words, i tell ya!

this particular video is about finding spirituality...
it was inspired by a hike he took a year ago with our brother-in-law.

take the time to watch the video...you will not be disappointed.

inspirational.

i wanted to share a video that the husband made...

he has a video production company and makes boring (but really good) business videos for his job.

however, in his spare time he comes up with videos like this one... i think he has a gift, but then again, i might be a little biased...

enjoy! :)
